Visco elastic memory foam
Naturalex creates its mattresses and bedding complements using innovative technology of NASA-invented memory foam.
Memory foam was developed in the 1970s under a contract by NASA's Ames Research Center to improve the safety of aircraft cushions. Made out of polyurethane with additional chemicals that increase its viscosity and density. It is often referred to as "viscoelastic" polyurethane foam.
Higher-density memory foam softens in reaction to body heat, allowing it to mold to a warm body in a few minutes.
Naturalex has developed its own memory foams with various densities and specificities. In total, six viscoelastic foams are featured in the composition of the Naturalex’s mattresses.
Viscoelastic foam assets
Used in bedding for over 20 years, memory foam brings multiple benefits : Excellent support of the body, ultimate comfort and low motion transfer. Viscoelastic foam has a high life expectancy, similar to spring mattresses, up to 10 years.
The Air Fresh® system, also developed by Naturalex, offers a perfect breathability of the mattress’ structure by letting the air flows through the different materials and avoiding dampness problems.
Naturalex uses various firmness of memory foam : balanced, medium firm, firm and hard.
